İZİSYÖM organised an awareness meeting/seminar titled “Child Labour” on 12 June 2018 at 13:30 at Dokuz Eylül University DESEM Bordo Hall. The awareness meeting was moderated by Hatice Suna Bina, Provincial Social Studies and Project Manager of Izmir Governorship.

During the meeting, Fatih Mehmet Güven from the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies gave information about the “Action Plan for Combating Child Labour 2017-2023″, which is the most fundamental public policy document on child labour: 2017-2023”, which is the most fundamental public policy document on child labour.

Hülya Kaya from Izmir Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Policies gave a presentation titled “Policies, Practices and Measures on Child Labour” and talked about the activities of the Ministry of Family and Social Policies and examples of successful practices.

Prof. Dr. Erkut Konter from DEU Buca Faculty of Education approached the issue from the perspective of psychology and focused on the play requirements of children with his presentation titled “Child Labour, Play and Sports from a Social-Psychological Perspective”.

Ayça İzmirlioğlu from Yaşar University Faculty of Law, with her presentation titled “Legal Aspects of Child Labour”, discussed the legal situation and problem areas in child labour.
